Golden Oaks is an “Assisted Living” community, specially designed to accommodate seniors who may be at risk for nursing home placement.  The Hermantown location was built in 2006 in a quiet wooded area minutes from the Miller Hill Mall and the Proctor  facility, built in 2008, is conveniently located off of I-35.  Both Golden Oaks facilities are 30-bed, one level buildings with six private rooms and remaining rooms are shared in each.  Room layouts are in units of five residents with a comfortable sitting area and handicapped accessible bathroom for each unit.

GOLDEN OAKS became a reality when owner Laura Lokken had the opportunity to take care of her own Mother. Since there were no assisted living facilities that specialized in higher level care, it became obvious that this was a direction Laura would take. Not all people need a nursing home. If someone needs more advanced care, GOLDEN OAKS can fill that need. It is such a nice transition for our residents, as they come to GOLDEN OAKS and it feels more like home.

Laura and her staff love the residents and have chosen this career because of the deep commitment to serving individuals who are advancing in years along with health issues. Everyone is committed to the best of care. It is important that the residents feel at home, along with the personal features one has there. Personalized living spaces, home cooked meals, a large family room, a picnic and barbecue area, along with an indoor and outdoor fireplace help make you feel like you are at home.
